Yes however mechanical leverage would be needed to break the sika flex seal andthen replaced with a EPDM rubber seal if regular removal is needed, this would also create a fixed opening where the tent base existed and would need a cover. The top is not intended to be removed though.
We strongly recommend removing all lid stored gear prior to opening lid, however each Sport camper has 300lbs of lifting power and each top weighs approximately 140lbs. Safari tops are limited to approximately 70lbs evenly distruibuted and extreme caution needs to employed when deplying or stowing the top with a load.
Insulation packages are now integrated into the desire top style (sport/safari). Each insulated Yucca Pac offers 3 layer soft walls equivalent to R4 Inuslation and built right into the walls the lower canopy below gets the same insulation with soft touch walls and can easily be installed after purchase.

Yes, we do have a barn door option in development and is ready for production. However, no guarantee can be made that they can be installed in previous models, and each make of vehicle will require its own fit up kit at an additional cost.
During installation a great deal of care is paid to ensure that all campers are sealed from the elements, our rear door seals to the top plate of each tailgate rather than traditional canopy rear wiper seals. This provides a superior seal against water and dust, however customers should also consider investing in a high quality tailgate gap seal for the make and model of their trucks to completly seal their habitats. These can be sourced and installed at an additional cost for linnear foot.
We can in some circumstances, however, access to lifting equipment is recommended for primary installation.
Each camper comes with bracket hardware than can be paired with our lifting brackets, when paired with a set of camper jacks you can dolly on and dolly off your camper as often as you need, dolly brackets and legs are not intended for continuous storage, so we recommend setting the camper on sawhorses or a platform for long term storage.
